Mikel's Barber Shop - TEMPORARILY CLOSED

The art of the old fashioned barbershop is arrive and well in hikes point. I don't doubt that they can do any number of different cuts, but I always want the same cut. My style hasn't changed since I left the Army. (The Army insisted on a different cut.) I no longer live in the neighborhood but still make the drive across town for the experience. This is the closest real life example I've found to the feeling of Floyd's barbershop in Mayberry. Friendly service and conversation, can't ask for more than that!

It was raining out and I was roaming around, looking for a sit-down restaurant. I happened to see a Barber Shop sign, accompanied by the traditional striped barber pole. Realizing I hadn't had a good barber cut in quite a few years, I decided to forgo the rumbling in my tummy and get cleaned up a bit. I entered and was immediately seated by Laura. After determining how I wanted my hair cut, she set about to making me look good again (or as good as possible :-) ). During my cut, we talked about a variety of things.
