My mom and I had to rush our sweet cat Caleb, that was having violent seizures out of the blue. The veterinarian and staff were ready for him when we got there. Unfortunately, we had to have him euthanized after what the veterinarian explained what kind of life he could experience. On top of that, he already incurred brain damage from his fever. The veterinarian and staff were so kind and compassionate and gave all the time we needed to say goodbye to him as he took his last breath. Again, thank you Jefferson animal hospital!

My 10 year old lab had complications from a mass removal. She had to have an emergency surgery bc her incision came apart performed by Dr. Shumar. She was amazing. My dog was seen here until her wound completely closed up which took about a month. They took such good care of her. Everyone was over the top nice. She stayed at the hospital for a total of 4 nights. I was able to call and check on her at anytime. Dr. Cheever was one of the best and thorough vets I’ve ever seen. Thank to all the nurses and staff who helped in her recovery!

I came here with no prior knowledge or experience with any animal ER when my cat was having some severe stomach problems. Aside from the stressful circumstances that lead me here, I have nothing but good things to say about my experience.
Dr. Shumar took care of Levi and I’m very thankful she did. She was very kind, informative, and transparent about his immediate needs vs things that could wait for a follow up vet visit. Given the cost of an ER vs his regular vet, I am so grateful to have had help navigating the fine line between saving money and ensuring the comfort/health of my cat.

The interior is very clean and pretty. It might not matter as much to others, but as a neurodivergent person, the environment greatly impacts an already stressful situation. The waiting room is cozy, I appreciated the more private seating by the beautiful fish tank and was thankful for the accessible outlet when my phone was dying. A single person restroom is available, it was large and clean and had the cutest wallpaper trim I’ve ever seen (where is it from?!)

Costs were discussed before any treatment was given so there were no surprises. They take CareCredit which is sooo awesome, only certain places take CareCredit and with 24hr medical care for pets being such a limited resource I think it says a lot that they are willing to work with people with limited finances. I applied/was approved prior to my visit, but I saw resources there to aid in application if needed.

I freaked myself out a bit reading reviews while waiting to be seen, but now I am surprised by the low rating and some of the statements made. My visit in total, from check in as a new patient to check out, was about 4 hours. I saw a lot of reviews complaining about the length of their visit, but I don’t find this unreasonable. My cat was sick but in stable condition, and I found myself here because it’s the only 24hr vet in the area. Of course it’s gonna take time!

I was surprised by the cost of my visit— in a good way! I felt it was a fair price and I had expected to pay more than I did. They require a deposit before being seen (I think $200?) but this deposit is deducted from your total bill when checking out. I also find this fair and reasonable! The person at the front desk was friendly and helpful.

The atmosphere and staff lended me some comfort in a time of serious distress, thank you all for being so aweeeesome. <333 :) I hope I never need an emergency vet trip again, but if I do I can rest a little easier knowing my cat will be in good hands.

They watched my dog die while I swiped my card.
Nothing short of greedy, corporate cruelty dressed up as veterinary care.
My puppy was dying. Before anyone touched him, they handed me a card machine. $600. He was in my wife’s arms, barely conscious, having severe muscle tremors—and they stood there waiting for the transaction to process.
Later, they said he needed more treatment. Another $1,500. Same thing—payment before care. Swipe the card while your pet suffers.
We paid over $3,000. They kept him for days. Their diagnosis? “He got into something.” They never figured out what. Three thousand dollars and no answers.
If you care about your animal, do not bring them to this place.

I’ll start by saying most of the staff is friendly. However, I went here twice within the same week because the vets who saw my cat were basically just trying to slap a bandaid on her, take my money, and get to the next patient, rather than finding a root problem.

I adopted my kitten in September and within a couple days she was vomiting and had diarrhea, and also was refusing to eat. The first vet I had went to originally was closed so they recommended I take my cat Cleo here.

They originally tested her stool for a few parasites, but not all of them. The vet told me they didn’t test for the “less common” ones (what she actually had — I later found out from the Humane Society).

Instead of recommending more tests, he just prescribed her medications for diarrhea, vomiting, gave her an injection for nausea, and fluids. She was still actively vomiting as we left the vet and they did not care. She was very lethargic and looked terrible.

A day later she was showing no improvement so I took her back. The vet who saw me this time said to MY FACE “the staff who took care of her earlier did not do enough for her.” This statement shocked me. Once again, another injection was given to “help her nausea.” There was a root issue here that was being ignored. Not to mention I sat in here for 5 hours each time.

I was constantly told “someone will be right with you” and it would be another HOUR of sitting there with 0 communication, and no one coming to check on me or Cleo.

Exhausted of my money and resources, I eventually just reached out to the Humane Society and they took care of her and found out she had a parasite. They treated her for free since I quite literally spent all my money (thousands!) here.

I feel like my cat’s health was not taken seriously here. She was lethargic, dehydrated, and losing weight rapidly and needed more attention and care than she got.

Our pup suddenly was unable to walk and we weren’t sure if it was a stroke or seizure… Everyone was so kind. Dr. Kiser explained our pup had a mass growing which was the cause of her problems. He gave us our options and the most logical (due to the age of our Scooter) option was to put her down. They brought her in with a blanket and we weren’t able to spend as much time as we wanted with her.
Though it was hard to say goodbye, allowing her to suffer would’ve been wrong.
They were all gentle and I am glad we had this option for help on a Sunday afternoon.
They were upfront about cost and I fund the cost to be reasonable.

Everyone was so kind! My 17 year old cat Milo had to be put to sleep, I was sobbing like a baby, and they made a terrible time much easier and they were sympathetic

My cat died and this female doctor was giving the medicine and when I said I would miss her and see her soon, the mean woman doctor of middle age was so RUDE, CRUDE AND WEAK MINDED TO THINK I MEANT ANYTHING ELSE BUT LOVE FOR MY CAT WHO I HAD FOR OVER 20 YEARS. Don't take your loved ones here, no one cares about them but if you have to come here then be aware the staff lacks BEDSIDE MANNERS!

I took my dog here today to get treated Fort some puncture wounds. Dr. Keel was very kind and knowledgeable. He quickly got him treated and bandaged, and made my dog feel comfortable. Nurse Kylie was also every kind, and thorough in her explanation of next steps for my dog's healing. Such a wonderful staff, and overall excellent experience. Thank you so much for taking such good care of my dog!

My golden retriever had gotten tangled up in a wire and cut right next to his groin area. It was pretty deep and he was bleeding alot. I brought him in and waited 2 or 3 hours in the waiting room for them to take him in for about 5 minutes. They gave him a cone and some meds and then sent him of. And then charged us 550$. Told us to come back in 2-3. This place sucks.
