If you want to talk about “playing dirty,” I’ve lived through it.
My ex retained Nicole Kersting and Christine Durrett, and we spent three years locked in court. He attempted to take everything I had earned after our separation. My attorney urged me to finalize the divorce quickly and agree to 50/50 custody before I was forced to file a tax return.
That decision opened the door to a nightmare.
When their tactics stopped working, they escalated—filing outrageous and false accusations, including claims that I was planning to abandon my home and take our son to Disney World and never return. Because of those allegations, my three-year-old son was stripped of a planned five-day Disney vacation the day before we were supposed to leave and was forced to be turned over to his father.
The judge at the time—Judge Sherlock, who later resigned—accepted those claims despite their lack of truth or evidence.
Six months later, my ex overdosed on heroin in front of our son. Only then did the nightmare finally end.
When I remarried, my husband legally adopted my son, ensuring permanent safety and stability. My ex has had no contact with us since June 25, 2016.
Nine and a half years later, my son is thriving.
