Apparently THIS PRACTICE IS NOW CLOSED. So this review is mainly for anyone who has ever been a patient at this practice. I previously left a review regarding the poor communication within the office staff and a billing issue that lasted for MONTHS however this review is new after a phone call I had with the office assistant today. There was an issue about a month ago where every patient received a text saying that our overdue balances were being sent to collections. Once I was finally able to get ahold of the office staff about a week later, the office assistant let me know that this was a technical error with their patient management platform. At this point I had already decided I'd never go back to this practice, so on this call I asked multiple times if I had any outstanding balance so that it could be resolved and I could walk away from being a patient there. The office assistant confirmed that I had no outstanding balance. Fast forward to today 12/11/2024, I received a voicemail from the office assistant stating that after the mass text mishap, the practice had sent me multiple "emails" stating that I had an overdue balance and I needed to resolve it immediately. I've never once received an email from this practice. I called back and spoke with the office assistant who told me that the PRACTICE HAS CLOSED and they are calling all patients with overdue balances. Here are some spark notes: -I asked what email address they had been sending these notices to and she could not tell me because she no longer has access to the patient portal. -I asked how she knew that I had an overdue balance or not if she does not have access to the patient portal. She said the owner/primary provider left her a "list" of patients with overdue balances and asked her to call everyone to resolve them. -I asked how they were expecting patients to pay these balances and she said she was instructed by the owner/provider to take payment over the phone, since the patient portal no longer exists. -I then asked how I was supposed to be sure that the amount she claimed I owed was accurate if she can't even pull up my email address. No good answer. -I then asked where this money was going if the practice is now closed and she can't access the patient portal. She said the money would be going into the owner's personal bank account, and then she backtracked saying it would be going into a bank account for some "foundation". I told her that this entire conversation felt like a scam and that it seems wildly unethical to try to collect overdue balances from patients over the phone when a) the practice is closed, b) she can't confirm any of my personal information, c) the overdue balances were just given to her in some list from the owner, and d) that the payments would allegedly be going into a personal bank account of the owner's. This feels like a waste of breath now that the practice is closed, but I'm hoping anyone who has might receive a call similar to this in the next few days sees this review so that can also make an informed decision before paying for an "overdue balance" over the phone to a practice that is now closed.

I've been seen at this office one time but should be covered under my insurance. I just got a call saying that I owe about. I'm unable to reach the office. I've made every attempt to call and the phone seems to be disconnected if anyone from this office is available, please check your phone lines so that I can settle this dispute. Thank you.

I have been reluctant to write this because up until very recently I couldn’t say enough good things about Ashley Anderson and her staff here. The problem started about 3 weeks ago. My daughter has been trying to get her depo shot, needed to prevent pregnancy, for over a week and a half and there is always some excuse from Christina, who answers the phone. The most recent convo was where she said, “My bad” when my daughter went to pick up her RX and it hadn’t been called it yet…FOR THE THIRD TIME! Now, the shot is 10 days late and my daughter and her fiancé are abstaining for fear of an unwanted pregnancy and the office JUST called and CANCELLED her appt for tomorrow to get the shot (the RX which still hasn’t even been called it yet)! I am having both of our records sent somewhere else! No one in that office needs to be in health care! These are NOT facials or massages y’all are cancelling! You’re screwing with people’s lives and that is NOT OKAY. If I could give ZERO STARS at this point, I would! I am not sure what happened but it’s obvious the leader in the office (Ashley) is focused on other things and is completely ruining her own business. It’s sad, really. Now we have to start all over from scratch with someone new and that makes me so ?

My first appointment was great. It's been downhill from there. Dr. Anderson seemed to really care. The attempts to get in touch with her and her office while being treated for hypothyroidism has shown me otherwise.

In addition to incorrect billing that they have neglected to look over, it is difficult to even get anyone on the phone, and when you do, the person on the other end sounds like it's their first day every day. Mind-numbing.

I've had 2 in-person appointments (one was rescheduled last minute the day before by them). I've also had 4 telehealth appointments (1 was rescheduled by them 1 HOUR AFTER the call time, and 2 were missed by me by a MINUTE and she calls via private number so you can't call back). I'm always willing to admit my misdeeds, but the double standards and lack of care because of them are insane. In addition to all of this, Dr. Anderson is unable to see patients for the unforeseeable future, so an in-person appointment is not an option.

So, in total, I've only actually spoken to the doctor TWICE. This is exhausting. Now, because I won't be able to get blood work before I need the medication again, Dr. Anderson refuses to refill my prescription for 1 month. I will go back to suffering because of medical neglect.

I highly suggest not wasting your time with this doctor's office.

I really enjoyed the first few appointments I had with Athena Health and Wellness, and Dr. Anderson has been my favorite provider in recent years. However, like many of the most recent reviews, I have really struggled in my interactions with the office. I used to be able to reach Dr. Anderson's office assistant easily and get help with bills, insurance issues, etc. It appears that they have changed their office structure and instead of being able to reach the office directly, I am now met with a remote office assistant who takes a message and states that I'll receive a call back from the office whenever they have time, but "they are just really busy with patients today".

I've recently been having issues with the office stating that I have an outstanding bill when the insurance company states they have already paid most of it months ago. But the office staff always asks me to contact the insurance company because they don't have the money. I do believe in advocating for myself and taking my health into my own hands, but its frustrating to feel like I'm responsible for being the liaison between the office and my insurance company when I don't need to be.

I also received a EOB from my insurance company for thousands of dollars for labs that Dr. Anderson recommended I receive. But I was unaware of where the labs would be sent and that I'd be on the hook for that much money. If I would have known, I wouldn't have gotten them done. I'm also unable to see any of my bills in the patient portal because it never seems to be working.

On the day of getting the above labs drawn, I waited in my gown for over an hour for the lab tech to show up because she was apparently unaware that I was on her schedule for that day.

I used to work in healthcare, and I appreciate that this is a small woman-owned practice. I'm also self-employed and can be relatively flexible with my time. But women's healthcare is frustrating enough and these issues have honestly just made me feel defeated.

I hope they are able to resolve their office structure and organization, because I'd really love to continue coming here to see Dr. Anderson.

This was my 1st appointment at this office and I was amazed at the atmosphere and staff. Tonjalia and Necolle were absolutely amazing. They were informative about their processes and recommendations they would like for me to try. They made me feel like I was heard with my symptoms and or ailments. This office was an experience that I would recommend to any woman. 10/10

Today, I had the incredible opportunity to experience Necolle Banks exceptional healing talents at Athena Health and Wellness, and I am overflowing with gratitude. From the moment I stepped into her space, Necolle's warm and welcoming energy enveloped me, setting the stage for a truly transformative experience.

Opting for the Aromatouch Massage and Essential Oil treatment, I was astounded by Necolle's expertise and attention to detail. Not only did she skillfully administer these treatments, but she also provided me with a personalized regimen to address my sleep and anxiety concerns. Her dedication to her clients' well-being is evident in every aspect of her practice.

Furthermore, Necolle's achievements and gifts extend far beyond her role as a healer. As Louisville's First Black Woman Head Swim Coach and Certified Swim Instructor, she has made a profound impact on countless lives through her dedication to teaching swimming skills. Her commitment to holistic wellness doesn't stop at the treatment room; it permeates every aspect of her life, empowering individuals to embrace healthier lifestyles naturally.

Leaving my session feeling rejuvenated and balanced, I am deeply grateful for Necolle's beautiful energy and the invaluable tools she has provided me with. I wholeheartedly recommend scheduling an appointment with Necolle at Athena Health and Wellness to experience her transformative healing and witness firsthand the positive impact she has on those she encounters.

I recently withdrew my care at this office because the professionalism has gone down terribly since I became a patient in 2020. I had similar problems as the most recent reviews. The last time I needed refills I had to physically show up to the office after weeks of trying to call to get them. It is unfortunate because Ashley is very personable, but her office is so disorganized that patient care falls through the cracks. Please read the recent reviews and consider somewhere else for care.
