For about two months we had been experiencing constant dimming and flickering lights. We first called a large, well-known company in the area (they had also replaced our HVAC earlier this year), and their technician quoted us between $8,000–$11,000 to replace our “outdated panel box.” This was a shock, especially since we had just spent $17,000 with them. Thankfully, my husband mentioned it to his colleague—a former electrician—who felt that price sounded excessive and suggested we call Younger Electric instead. When my husband spoke with Mr. Younger directly, he not only listened carefully but also gave us an honest suggestion: before sending one of his own technicians out, we should first call KU to rule out any issues on their end.
