We were new to the area and didn’t have a vet yet. One of our Golden Retrievers came to the door with a profound limp in a clear state of pain. Dr Wixsom agreed to add us to her schedule at the end of the day on the same day that we called. She examined Baxter and determined that he had broken a toe and offered multiple treatment actions but recommended that we only treat his pain and keep him from running or jumping for eight weeks. She correctly said that it could heal on its own if we are careful to keep him calm. Friendly, knowledgeable staff! Very professional but also warm. Dr. Wixsom and the vet tech answered every question thoroughly and patiently. They provided many resources and information to get and keep our parrot healthy. They handled her well and minimized any fear my pet had ( and mine, as well!) We traveled about an hour and a half to be seen and we are very happy with our choice!
Today Mr. Fe, my sometimes difficult cat, and I went to see Dr. Wixsom and staff for his yearly physical. It was a very pleasant experience for both of us. Dr. Wixsom was very concerned about Fe and treated him with compassion. I was allowed to be with him for his entire visit and was able to have conversation with Dr. Wixsom and her staff, when we left I felt like all of my questions and concerns had been addressed.
