This is my second time through PT. I for years was scared of medical professionals after years of medical dismissal and lack of urgency to find a solution that worked. Shelby was assigned to me this time- Park City office- and to say she is amazing is an understatement. She listens, explains, and hears me when I say it’s too much. She has adapted my exercises to fit the day and pain level I am in. She helps me understand WHY it hurts the way it does. Example; today sitting in the lobby I was afraid to speak up that the bike was to much on my back Tuesday- and we had discussed I wouldn’t use that in my first appt- but I did it anyways because that’s what they asked me to do. I was with someone other than her (which I like her too so I wasn’t panicking) I sucked it up worried they’d judge me for struggling. Today when I brought up the spiral it sent my back into- Shelby not only was empathic- but also took the bike OFF my available exercises. Shelby has restored a little bit of my trust in medical professionals and I appreciate her listening and taking me at my word for what goes and doesn’t go well with my injury. She also is there to be positive and kind about my personal life. To sum it up a complete 180 from the prior experience I had.
Advanced therapy!! Independence, KS is amazing. I have to admit, my knee surgery recovery has not been easy, or rather, that's how I see it. These ladies are super amazing. They provide the encouragement you need to keep going, even when you feel like you can't. They've informed me more than once that I'm doing remarkably well, considering the short time since my surgery. I really do not want to do the second knee replacement at all. But I know they have my back all the way. I would highly recommend them for any kind of therapy. They are the best.
I came here for neck pain, and with just my first visit, I left feeling more positive about the cause of the pain, and how I will be able to help heal my condition. Not just the equipment in the office, but more importantly there are exercises I have been shown that help stretch and strengthen the muscles. These same muscles that were hurting are now much less painful, just one week later. I highly recommend the work being done at Advanced Physical Therapy.
