Beginner Children MMA: My thirteen year old daughter just finished her first month, she made a new friend as well as some new moves. This kind of training requires more practice than the once per week offered so be prepared to spend some time with your child going over the various moves, at least twice per week.The training techniques taught by Heston's are solid, classic maneuvers that can be very effective if self defense is ever needed, all you as an adult need to do is stay and pay attention. My son loved this! My son was scared at first and it took him a few to get comfortable but the staff did an amazing job with these kids! I love the warm up before things began, some running around etc. and then they get to start punch/kicking the bag where each kid got attention and was taught the punches/kicks correctly. They finished with a fun game for the kids. They allowed parents to be near their child/ren which was great, especially for this age group since a lot of lil ones get nervous. I attended a women's self defense class with Heston's Gladiator Academy. It was a blast to learn some new techniques and hang out with some awesome women. I look forward to more classes!
