“The words "I want to make sure you are happy" were said to me every time I saw/spoke with Joe Letzig, owner of Joe's Fence Contractors. And he was a man of his word. From start to finish, if something needed clarification (i.e. reuse of caps on top of posts, premixing the concrete, etc.) Joe made sure that my wishes were respected and honored. The quality of the work was excellent. Some of his crew had been with him for decades, so the craftsmen on site knew how to build fences. The materials were beautiful red cedar and good quality. Joe’s Fence is a locally owned small business not a large company with high overhead, which means Joe can usually come in below his larger competitors, some of whom may question whether a fence can be bult with quality materials and methods at Joe’s prices, but I assure it can be. So, you can spend more for a fence, but you do not need to. One thing you may want to consider is your timeline. If you need to have a fence demolished and rebuilt in a short timeframe (say same day), a small business may not always be able to hit that deadline, but I think Joe will tell you his window and not promise a delivery date he cannot hit, so be up front and tell him, "I need this job finished by such and such a date." I did this with Joe when our fence was about half completed (day 2), and by golly, he brought in extra crew and they hit the mark I set. No frills with small business, no high-impact marketing, no massive overhead, minimal staff resulting in personalized service.
