Im so glad I looked up for a feed store that was near where I was at the time, I live in the northland and had some time to burn, so I went and the two workers were very helpful and showed me many different products and answered my dumb questions, and it wasnt just me, I overheard them with two other customers!! Idk if I can save a buck or two at a national chain, I will drive to get my supplies from here!!
I needed starter feed for my ducks. I’ve been raising ducks for 6 years. Ducks need 18-20% protein, or their legs can buckle from too much weight, or they can develop angel wing. The man at the store tried to sell me a bag of 28% protein all flock. When I questioned the protein content, he told me to cut it 50/50 with cracked corn. Since corn has some protein that puts it at a perfect ratio. However, I didn’t understand the math right away. The guy explained it to me like I was a toddler and I found that rude.
