“I've been with Ashley ( owner) on and off since I moved here 8 years ago. It started with keratin treatments, I already had a colorist when I found her for keratin. I recently lost my colorist and have been going to Ashley for my highlights ( summer) lowlights ( winter). She has converted this space in so a relaxing, chic, clean salon. There are multiple hairstylists here and a massage therapist. She hosts little parties for Botox, grand openings, Chiefs events etc. she is the stylist for the Chiefs cheerleader and the Hunt family. She definitely knows what she is doing. She makes you feel comfortable and is competent in what she does. She also sources new products that are better for the hair, skin, environment etc.You get what you pay for here, this is not a 30 dollar cut or highlight. “While I love the vibe and aesthetic of Vibe KC, the real reason I come here is for Renee. Renee is an absolute professional when it comes to cutting hair. I moved to the KC Metro two and a half years ago and immediately started my search for a new hairstylist. I was in the process of growing out my highlights and was looking for someone who could help me get my hair as healthy as possible and cut my hair in a way that enhanced its natural texture. Specifically, my goal was to be able to leave the house without feeling like I had to blow dry, flat iron or curl my hair. I hit the jackpot when I found Renee. I have a LOT of fine, dark blonde hair and every haircut I ever got before Renee left me disappointed and turned me into an insane control freak when it came to my hair. Renee solved every single one of my problems. She very clearly knows what she’s doing and takes her time to ensure that every haircut she gives is perfect. I rarely style my hair nowadays because my hair looks SO good in its natural form. It’s gotten to the point where I arrive at the salon, sit in the chair and tell Renee to do whatever she thinks is best. Another thing I love about Renee is knowing that when I ask her for product recommendations, she will only recommend the best of the best and will typically suggest several options at different price points depending on what I’m willing to spend. My hair was just past my shoulders when I started having Renee cut it and now, two and a half years later, it’s down to my lower back. I’m in awe of her talent and will NEVER got to another hairstylist. My teenage daughter has the exact same hair as me and Renee gives her the absolute best hair cuts. She’s incredible in every way. I should also add that she’s hilarious, a pleasure to converse with and someone that I have grown to consider a friend.“

Call me crazy, but I think if you’re going to pay $100 for a haircut and style, you should have supermodel hair when you leave the salon. I haven’t had a hairstylist who could do that since 2007 (shoutout to Duncan Bros-OKC). Until today! Shana at Moonshot gave me the perfect 90s supermodel layers and a bouncy, shiny blowout. “I have been going to Emily for over a decade and she is exceptional at highlighting my dark, thick, somewhat unruly hair. When I first came to her, I had tried many “high-end” salons all over the city and ended up with fried, straw-like hair that I never thought would grow beyond my shoulders. I was also spending so much time and money on extensions and products to achieve a long-haired look. But since Emily started coloring my hair, it grows inches between visits and is long and healthy. The blonde color and highlight placement looks natural and professional and I get compliments from strangers all the time. She is also very careful when cutting length as to not go too short and really listens to what you say and doesn’t go overboard. In the 40+ appointments I’ve had over the years, she has never once been late, canceled or had an off day. Also, the new salon space is modern and beautiful and I feel so happy and comfortable there. I hope Emily never retires because I plan to keep coming to her as long as she will have me!“
