The academy is led by Kyoshi James R. Palmer, a 7th Degree Black Belt, and his wife Renshi Ashleigh Palmer, a 5th Degree Black Belt, along with a team of certified instructors. The academy offers a flexible schedule that caters to families' needs, and the atmosphere is always positive and fun. Students of all ages and abilities are welcome, and the academy holds holiday events for kids and provides playtime. The instructors are highly regarded, with one student's confidence "through the roof," and are described as being like family to the students.
