Overall, the staff is great and the Friendliness would all get five stars. I had a procedure in the First procedure went great, but then I was supposed to have a second surgery and I waited all day no food no water and no news except from the staff not the doctors of when it would happen so that is why they are getting this rating

Our son was born here on 02/09/26. The doctors, nurses and residents were absolutely amazing. I live in Topeka and our plan was to have our son at the St. Francis campus. Unfortunately, some possible medical issues with our son came up and they decided we should have him at KU Med. It was a whole new environment for me. But the staff made us feel extremely welcome and they brought our son into the world perfectly and professionally. They answered any questions we had with a smile and offered assistance with anything we needed. I’m glad we had our son at KU Med. To all the doctors, nurses, residents, CNA’s, lactate consultants, and housekeeping. Thank you so much for our wonderful experience.

Parking for the ER is a 10 minute walk from the actual ER I might as well bleed out in the street

I was denied antiviral treatment after explaining that I believed my facial paralysis could be viral and specifically asking that my ears be checked for Ramsay Hunt syndrome. My ears were not examined. The doctor told me I was not paralyzed enough to receive antivirals.
I later contacted Patient Relations about this and was met with a dismissive response. Instead of offering support or clarification, the representative asked if I planned to sue. This was a very disappointing and upsetting experience.
I have been reaching out to Patient Relations since November 2025 and it is now the end of January 2026. The only response I received was a phone call asking if I planned to sue. My complaints have not been addressed, and my request for medical records remains unanswered.

I go with my youngest to the child development center at ku med. I couldn't ask for a better place to take care of him! His developmental pediatrician is absolutely wonderful! He not only cares about his concerns he has, but cares for him as a person. Thank you for being there for my son!

Paying 3-7 dollars for parking every time someone wants to visit a family member in the hospital is ridiculous, I’m easily spending 40-50 a week on parking to see my mother 1-2 time a day. hundreds of thousands of dollars per patent isn’t enough, they have to charge the families to come see them. Like They don’t get enough from out of pocket paying and insurance? I hate you people

There is no policy for a provider canceling on you. It could be a couple days notice and they do not offer to reschedule or to help you get medication that may be delayed due to cancelation. This has happened 4 times to me this year alone. 2 of those times were the same doctor canceling. I had to call the office and beg for my prescriptions to be sent in, after the nurse said I needed to see the doctor and I had to explain I had an appointment that was canceled by the physician. This went on multiple times. There's no policy of physician vacation requests, they can cancel on you at any time.
