Alden Harrington Funeral Home treated our family like Royalty. The communication was excellent; the make up on my sister was magnificent; the banquet room we used afterwards had plenty of room, was clean and they had tables arranged for us to use after the Ceremony. It was raining during the burial, Alden Harrington provided umbrellas; wood boards to walk on made sure we did not stand in the rain.I highly recommend this funeral home, they did an excellent job over seeing everything .

Caring, compassionate and thoughtful is my experience working with the team at the funeral home. 2 years ago, my friend, a young Afghanistan war veteran, committed suicide. He had no means and his poor mother was disoriented by the tragedy. Not only did Brad gently guide her through the cremation process, he helped organize the burial at Leavenworth cemetery. Without his guidance no one would have been able to navigate the process in their grief. He went above and beyond I think out of love of country and also out of love for this young man. What else propels a person in such a tragedy?
May God bless the Harrington family.

Jeff and Brad, it's with great thanks and appreciation that I write this 10 star review. My dad (Retired Marine Sergeant Michael S Bell) was in your care from March 11th 2025 until his burial on March 25th 2025. I can't say enough good things. I will say my dad looked better, younger and at more peace then the day of his passing. I know family and friends also appreciated this. He was dressed in his Marine Dress Blues as his final wishes. At his passing, it was unexpected and sudden. God truly blessed us with you and your family taken care of my dad and hosting a beautiful service. Jeff you guys exceeded expectations. Your funeral home truly wishes to honor the loved ones and the family and friends. My only suggestion would be to others to USE HARRINGTON FLORAL! I chose to use Englewood Floral in Lawrence which did outstanding. May God continue to bless Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, families and generations to come until our Lord takes us all home! With Love, ~Charlie Bell

I have used this funeral home in the past, and I have been struggling with what to say here. I want to believe that the mistakes that have been made, are just that, mistakes. We are all human and I can accept a human mistake from time to time. However, I feel in this case, it has gone beyond simple human error and borderlines into negligence. My dear daddy, a Veteran in the United States Army, passed away October of 2023. His services were performed out of town a couple hours away from Kansas City. That part of his service was done beautifully. Our wishes were granted as far as having him buried in a simple linen cloth in a beautiful, plain wooden casket. That all seemed to go off without a hitch. It is what came afterwards that my family feels has been lies and negligence. My mother had them handle getting his slab put down over both his grave, and what will someday be my mother’s grave. THEN they were suppose to get/order his placard from the VA. DOZENS of phone calls later, we are now on January 15 2025 and my daddy STILL doesn’t have the base, NOR his VA placard. So so many times we called, no calls back. Desperate pleas for help has fallen on deaf ears. We have called the VA directly several times only to find out it was never sent in. Only yesterday 1-14-25 when I called the funeral home and threatened to make official complaints, only then did I get a call back. My demands still weren’t met, all I asked for at this point was to have them pull my dads file, have it ready for me to pick up. Instead, Jeff called and said he faxed the order 9-2024 and once before that and that he sent it again that day (1-14-25) that is not what I asked for. I asked for my dads file so WE can send it in. I no longer have faith in them, and will not be using them in the future. My family just needs closure, my dear daddy deserves his placard and we want to move on. We just want closure and I would love to think that they would too. Thank you for listening… Keaton family

I was warned about this funeral home, that it couldn't be trusted and went against that warning and found out first hand that I should've listened. If you value your loved ones do yourself a favor and find another funeral home.I released my sons remains to this this place for cremation. Jeff himself noted on the paperwork that I and I alone would pick up my sons ashes, I refused to sign the paperwork until it was noted and made VERY CLEAR that under no circumstances was anyone but myself to pick up his remains. Jeff himself even stated that my ex wanted no remains, then and only then did I sign to have his body released here. There were to be 3 urns, 2 of them supplied by myself and the third the burial box from the crematorium. one for his son, one for myself and the third was to go to his grandmother for burial as she is big on memorial day and decorating family graves. Imagine my surprise that when I went to pick up his ashes, that my ex wife had called a week earlier and changed things.I never received a call or email or any communication stating this from anyone at the funeral home so imagine my shock when I found out they went completely against EVERYTHING we agreed on and the notes on the paperwork I signed.Burying a loved one is hard enough, but when its your son, this made things so much worse. His grandmother was devastated and now we will have to make other arrangements.I would never recommend this funeral home to anyone and will never consider it for future family funerals.I found out first hand they cant be trusted and regret not listening when I was warned.I highly recommend finding another facility if your considering here.

When my grandma passed, my mom and her siblings worked with Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, and they were so nice to all of us. It's a frustrating process, what all you have to go through, but they made it easy, and allowed everyone to take their time, and was very patient with questions. We worked with Brad Harrington, who was super sweet, and probably one of the best funeral directors I've ever worked with. I work at a church, and work with many different funeral home directors. Brad definitely stood out among the others to me. He was just so professional and so kind, it felt like we were old friends. They put together a little video slideshow with pictures of my grandma at no extra cost. It was very beautiful.

I live in Florida and my grandpa passed away down here with me. Thankfully he set up an insurance policy with Alden Funeral Home years and years ago that covered everything in which we were going to transfer to Florida when the time came but the Florida funeral home wasn’t being cooperative. Brad stepped in and handled everything with the Florida funeral home and made it possible for me to have my grandpa transported back to be buried next to my grandma and father. He went above and beyond my expectations. They were amazing and I couldn’t of asked for a better experience. He made this difficult time easy.
