I just took my 2nd horseback ride at the Brown County Saddle Barn. It's family run and operated (thanks Ryan & Rudy), the horses are sweet tempered to ride and beautiful to look at, and the scenery and atmosphere is serene and peaceful. I live in the city so it's a place I can go to recharge away from the hustle and bustle of life. Rudy will have you smiling and laughing as he guides your tour and Ryan is a hard worker who will make sure the horses and guests are taken care of! They offer fall wagon rides for $5 per/person I believe, I can't wait to go on one! My favorite horse is Willie aka Will, and they let me feed him some carrots I had brought... read full review

Took my daughter for a pony ride and be aware, you lead the pony around the track, not a staff member. I was holding the pony close to the halter and she still tried to take off on me, also pushing us into the fence, scraping my daughter's knee and tearing my jacket on nails sticking out of the fence. I asked a staff member to guide a different pony for my daughter's second round. I wouldn't go back and unless you have some experience with horses, I wouldn't do the pony ride.

Family owned operation. Horses were lovely and 2.2 mile trail is beautiful with lots of elevation changes. It was fantastic! Owners reported that for this season, they are no longer taking reservations - it is all first come first serve, opening at ten. This means that if you arrive when the guide is out you may need to wait a bit for your turn. (Which is fine, horses and ponies and scenery are nice to look at.) We took a ride at the opening of the season and at this point the phone number was not working or not answered - would suggest connecting it to a voicemail that just describes the hours, prices, and system.
