Pick the right team. During our early research we did site visits to 6 or 7 model homes. From that list we conducted factory tours of two builders. Both were able to show us the complete process and materials used. We were impressed with the quality of materials used by Heckaman. They use checklists at every step in the build process to make sure everything is done right and complete. The build materials were dry, walls are built using square jigs and the workers were warm, dry and comfortable. I believe this leads to a higher quality product. Each home is inspected and must pass Michigan building codes before leaving their property. The house was built... read full review
