Dr. Hobson had consistently provided my cat a high-level of care of which I am very appreciative of. All the staff I've met are very friendly and make the experience easy and informative. I would recommend Care Animal Hospital to anyone within the Muncie area.

I have been using Care Animal Hospital since 2020, but unfortunately my most recent experience has been extremely disappointing.
I brought my Australian Shepherd in because I was concerned about his eye. After a brief exam, I was told it was allergies and was prescribed medication. There was no follow-up, no additional testing, and no effort to check back in on his condition. The medication did not help, and my dog’s vision has continued to decline. He is now continuing to go blind. The original issue was loss of fair Around the eye. Now progressing towards blind.
What is most frustrating is that the diagnosis felt like a guess rather than a thorough evaluation. I was charged nearly $300 for services and medication that did not address the issue, and when I raised concerns, I was told they do not provide refunds for services performed , even when they were unsure of the actual cause.
As a responsible dog owner, I do everything I can to give my dog top-notch care. My Australian Shepherd is part of my family, and his health matters deeply to me. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Care Animal Hospital to anyone who truly wants comprehensive, attentive care for their pets.
I am especially disappointed with the newer staff and the lack of communication and follow-up. After being a client for several years, this experience has completely changed my trust in the practice.
I would strongly suggest exploring other animal hospitals in Muncie if you are looking for thorough care and accountability.

Long and emotional update: This place is always worth the drive. We've been back a number of times since the original post. Seabeck remembered my little road kitty, and is always super excited to see his progress; whether good notes or good memory, both make a good doctor! Not as exciting, we found a one week old kitten outside in the rain. He was doing great, but when he wasn't, they had an appointment made for an hour later. We showed up 30mins before the appointment, and they took him back immediately. I'm not sure what strings were or weren't pulled, but I'm eternally grateful for them. They fought hard for him, and comforted us after he was gone. Little brings more comfort than to actually hear them doing everything they could. She asked what we wanted to do, but didn't ask too many questions (thank god). I didn't get any names unfortunately, but someone was so kind and kept apologizing, recognizing us from a recent appointment. One was a planned euthanasia, one was an emergency appointment. The funeral home they partner with gives a beautiful package when you pick up your pet, or they'll bury the ashes in a garden.
Original: First time we came here, I brought in a shelter cat for his free visit. A very kind staff member recognized him from when he was getting neutered and shots! She showed me pictures with him as a baby. Then, we go in yesterday for a kitten found in the road, and Dr. Seabeck and the other staff members took great care of this baby. They listened to my concerns, wrote everything down, and followed up on them. Dr. Seabeck was very honest in our options while still being very empathetic and gentle. We made a follow up appointment, received estimates with a full itemized list, and left feeling encouraged.

I would recommend Care Animal Hospital to anyone! I travel to Muncie just for them. The Doctors and Technicians are very knowledgeable and answer any questions one might have. The best part is they all really do care for every animal and client that walks through their door. Don’t hesitate to go to Care Animal Hospital, they’re worth the visit.

Care stayed open past their closing hours on a whim to see my kitten who ended up having a 105 degree fever. I am forever thankful. He is alive and well.
