“I could not be happier with my experience with Midwest Generator Solutions. From the initial contact through the installation, everyone I dealt with was professional, responsive, and focused on making the process as easy as possible.
When I first contacted MGS, I was told it could be 2–3 weeks before someone could come out for an onsite inspection and provide a quote. When I asked if there was anything sooner, they offered me the option of answering some questions and providing photos through an online link, which would allow them to prepare a quote much sooner.
I received the link on August 28 and, because of my schedule, wasn't able to complete the submission until Saturday, August 29. I was pleasantly surprised when Shawn responded with a quote the very same day. He answered all of my questions and was even willing to price match a slightly lower quote I had already received from another company for a Generac home generator.
One of the things I really appreciated about MGS is that they offer several brands, rather than trying to push you toward one particular manufacturer. After doing my research, I ultimately decided to go with a Kohler unit.
Once I made my decision, Shawn was able to get us scheduled for installation as early as four days later. This was extremely helpful because we had an upcoming trip and wanted to have the generator installed before we left. He also provided a second available date about 10 days out, so we had options.
The installation experience was just as impressive. On the day of the installation, I received three text messages with pictures of the technicians who would be arriving. Ryan, John, and Grant arrived and got right to work. They had to remove some landscaping bricks and trench to the propane tank to complete the installation, but they took great care with our property. Everything was put back exactly as it was when they arrived, and you can hardly tell any work was done. They also cleaned everything up extremely well before leaving.
During the installation, the crew noticed a small propane leak at a valve on our existing propane tank. This was completely unrelated to their work, but they immediately brought it to our attention so we could have it addressed. Our propane company came out and corrected the issue that same day. I really appreciated that the crew was paying attention and caught something that could have otherwise gone unnoticed.
The installation itself looks fantastic and very professional. Ryan was the main technician on site and took the time to answer all of my follow-up questions and walk me through how the generator operates. They tested the unit before leaving, and it ran perfectly.
There were also no unexpected costs or surprises along the way, which I really appreciated.
I want to specifically thank Shawn for making the sales and scheduling process so easy, and Ryan, John, and Grant for doing such a great job with the installation. The entire experience exceeded my expectations, and I couldn't be happier with the generator or the quality of the installation.
