We bought a Heat&Glo gas fireplace and all required chimney piping including decorative chimney cap from Tom's Appliance to replace a fireplace lost due to a chimney fire. The chimney chase had to be reconstructed including masonry work for a stone veneer on the chase . After we got moved back in, our chimney chase started to leak. An inspection showed a poorly installed chimney cap caused damage to the top layers of the stone veneer, plus there were gaps between the cap and the chimney pipe where the sealant did not adhere. The combination allowed water to penetrate under the cap and get behind the stone veneer. In addition, the inspection revealed the chimney pipe was in contact with combustible material at the top of the chimney chase. A representative of Tom' s does not accept responsibility for the work done by Tom's, going so far as to claim they did their work before our chimney chase was even constructed. I have a picture dated June 24, 2024 showing the framing of the constructed chase. Tom's installed the final run of chimney pipe and the chimney cap on November 15, 2024. In summary, Tom's chimney cap and pipe installation led to leaks in our chimney that required us to remove the stone veneer, install new veneer, redo the top of the chase to insure proper clearances from combustible, and properly reinstall the chimney cap. It cost over $13k for these repairs and Tom's appliance refuses any responsibility for their poor workmanship. Tom's sells great products, but be very aware that their installation work is very poor.

My husband was told that this place was a good repair. But it wasn't. They couldn't fix my husband mower. But still charged money 💰. And he was very rude when I spoke while my husband was on the phone with him. I'll will definitely not coming back here. Who charges for that wasn't done?

Same issue as many others on here. They charged me the cost of a brand new weed eater to fix mine and never called before to get permission. I would've bought a new one instead of fixing mine that is 5 years old. They also told me it would take 3 days. It ended up taking 4 weeks to get it fixed in the middle of summer. I called back a few times because they kept telling me 3 more days. One time they said they couldn't even locate it in the shop. Terrible customer service all around. Will not do business here and I'd advise against anyone else going here.

I brought our older Simplicity mower in for repair and specifically requested that the technician call before performing any work, as we were trying to avoid sinking too much money into it. After two weeks with no update, I was told the mower was ready—with nearly $500 in repairs already completed without prior approval.
Once we brought the mower home and began using it, the same issue persisted. The initial diagnosis appears to have been incorrect. I returned the mower and spoke with Matt, explaining that if the problem couldn’t be resolved, I would prefer to pick it up and receive a refund.
During that call, my wife—understandably frustrated—spoke up in the background and asked a fair question: “What if this had happened to you?” There was no yelling or profanity. Matt responded by saying it sounded like I had a problem with my wife, which I felt was inappropriate and unprofessional.
In the end, I was refunded all but $100, and the part that had been installed was removed. We were not given the original part back.
I left feeling that the level of service and communication was lacking, and I was disappointed in how the situation was handled. In my opinion, the way my wife and I were spoken to showed a lack of empathy and professionalism.
As someone who has worked in the service industry for over 40 years, I do not recommend this business. I also could not find them listed as an accredited business on the Better Business Bureau website, which others may want to take into consideration.

Our fridge was leaking in April and they came and “fixed” it. The same issue happened again three months later in July. Two servicemen came and confirmed it was the same issue and told me my bill would be discounted. I now have the bill and it is actually $80 higher than the first bill, rather than discounted. If I knew I would be paying more for the same issue and not being credited for having to fix it second time, I would have chose to take my business elsewhere. I called to inquire on this issue and was told that the bill was correct, the issue was different than the first time (which is incorrect), and that the serviceman have nothing to do with billing and aren’t able to say the bill could be discounted. This is very poor customer service.

This has to be one of the best services I have ever asked to help fix our lawn mowers. Last month, I called Tom's to fix three Snapper mowers after sitting them in our garage for two years with no one else to fix them. The service was extremely professional and picked up my mowers at a convenient time and place. The service was even better when they fixed our mowers as they fixed our Snapper mowers back to good shape again. The service took its time to clearly fix the issues with our rider and push mowers, and when they picked our mowers up and then dropped off, they treated our mowers with care alerting me about what was going on. They were not on convenient, but they are professional, trusted, and well loved in my book. They did a awesome job and I would recommend anyone to fix their mowers at Tom's Lawn & Garden more than anywhere else.
