Our 100-year-old home was seeing lots of cracks in the plaster due to recent highway construction two doors down from our property. As we watched the cracks multiply, we decided it was time to have a structural engineer take a look at the foundation of the house before having anything repaired. After reading reviews, and trying to find someone who specialized an older homes, we landed on Young's Inspections. Getting set up for the inspection was fairly straightforward and organized. It's quite pricey to have a foundation inspection at about $650 -from what I could read that's pretty close to the national average. Bob was thorough in his report and sent it our way the week after the inspection. Overall, it was a positive experience, and I felt confident in his expertise. If you need a structural engineer to inspect your foundation, I would recommend giving him a try. I hope you don't have to, though!

Bob's inspections are thorough...he goes where some inspectors don't. He's detailed in his reporting and explanations. Add to that he's also a structural engineer so if the house you are considering looks wonky, he can provide service for an assessment as well (this is in addition to a standard inspection so there will be an additional fee)

Bob Young provided a thorough, detailed report following a structural inspection. I am a new home buyer and I was unfamiliar with how to get specialized inspections performed on the property.
