Our newborn failed his hearing screening in the hospital so we were referred for outpatient testing. We initially went to St. Vincent and their equipment was down so they recommended we follow-up in 9 months. We decided to go to Riley for the follow-up testing and it wasn't until after the testing was complete that the audiologist told us that the testing is not necessarily appropriate for our son's age, but she did it anyway, and recommended we come back in a year. Three months later we received the bill - $1300. If the testing is not diagnostic at our son's age, why was it not recommended that we return at a more appropriate time? Also, WHY is it SO expensive? IMPOSSIBLE to get in contact with this place. A referral for my son was sent October 2023(From IU referring physician) and after multiple attempts to get him scheduled via me leaving voicemails/call back numbers, it is now mid-August and I still have not even received a phone call back. Completely unprofessional. God forbid he be in dire need of their treatment...
