I wanted to go from dark to light on stair treads but was not looking forward to the mess of sanding and restaining. Carl suggested tread covers and that turned out to be a great choice for us. 2 day project, very little mess, reasonable compared to other options and a great result. The treads got stained to match flooring from a different vendor and look great. Added bonus: The stairs feel more substantial than they did before and no longer creak.
Carl & Cesar are great! My floors were ruined by another contractor and general consensus was pretty much the worst job anyone has ever seen in their careers (3 contractors brought out to quote fixing the first one's failure). The Bona satin finish is wonderful. Cesar spent a week getting all the damage out of the floor surface. Couldn't be more pleased (except for if the first guy would have done it right). Do NOT take anyone's word about being able to refinish hardwood! Just go with these guys... The reviews (360+) are all you need to know.
