When it's cold outside it's always preferable to have a nice warm fire inside. Of course this is also the perfect time for a furnace to "throw in the towel." Throw in the fact it's Thanksgiving weekend, and you have the perfect recipe for a dire situation, especially for a nonagenarian and her precious little puppy. When we discovered the situation with our dear friend and neighbor we suggested she contact LCS Heating and Cooling for their expert opinion on how to restore the furnace to functionality. I think it is important to point out that this homeowner had a service contract with another well known Indianapolis HVAC company but was told they would be unable to investigate until Monday (when they were called Friday afternoon...) The outdoor temperature was hovering around 15 degrees (F) and the space-heater called into service was fighting a loosing battle. We suggested she call LCS since they were in the neighborhood here in Oaklandon, and their service vans are a familiar sight to us all. Enter our hero: Nikita Jenkins... Our Friday evening phone call finds her busy working on other customer demands but assures us that she can stop by first thing in the morning... Our poor friend managed to brave the situation with a mountain of blankets and the loaner space-heater (and how ever many BTU are emitted from a pint-sized pooch ;) Nikita arrived on the scene and dove into the project without fanfare and promptly diagnosed the problem to our complete satisfaction, with an accompanying explanation that went into great enough depth to convince my scientific mind that this technician was "the real deal." She frankly explained that weekend and after hours repairs are necessarily a higher priced product than if we could wait until Monday. Her communication skills were excellent and her command of pricing structures and billing amounts made us confident in our choice to call LCS. While it certainly would have been nice to wait until Monday to take advantage of the "Perfect Timing Discount Rate" we opted (for the sake of the plumbing) to ask for the "Get 'Er Done" approach. Nikita (I want to call her Niki so bad...) immediately set to work contacting her resources and found the critical part in need of replacement. She left to pick it up and was back in a flash. She set to work and was wielding the largest pair of channel-lock pliers I have ever seen in my life. This lady technician was truly a super hero. She knew the job she had to do and when she was done, and "flipped the switch", that cold gray box contained that beautiful blue flame, that once again started spreading its warmth throughout the home. Sorry Mister Winter, this victory goes to the ones who knew who to call, and the company who knew who to hire! LCS Heating and Cooling are now one of our favorite neighbors - give 'em a call!
Our neighborhood FB page raved about LCS so when I woke up to 82 degrees in my house I called them. I had a full day of clients at my salon and they were great about going to another appointment and coming back to me because I was in the middle of a service when they called.
