Eastside Family Karate

Eastside Family Karate provides my two polar opposite kids with valuable lessons that extend beyond karate. My youngest started at age 4 and one of the first things I noticed was the way karate provided discipline and practice following instructions without punishment or a sense of negativity. My son was easily motivated by his sensei’s fun and active approach to instruction. Four years later, karate is as much intellectual as physical for him, providing a growth mindset that he needs. That focus on growth is important for my daughter, too. Karate is a key part of her transformation from a quiet, shy girl who is afraid to do new things to a quiet, shy girl who has as much confidence in her heart and tiny body as she does her mind. We love being part of the community at the Eastside dojo, a very supportive place to learn, be active, and make friends.

I love to see my son learning new things, and this place has been so good for him. After just a few weeks I can see his focus and discipline improve.
