Motherland African Hair Braiding is a highly recommended salon for those seeking expert braiding services. Virginia is known for her thorough and speedy work, ensuring clients receive the style they ask for. The salon provides a positive experience with great prices and neat, consistent results. Customers can expect to receive professional service and beautiful braids, such as small micros, knotless box braids, and boho bobs. Virginia works perfectly with kids and is amazing, getting the braiding done quicker than expected. She doesn’t hurt the hair but the braid lasts for a long time. Many clients get so many compliments and have found their go-to braiding shop.
I called the day before and asked if they had availability to do microbraids. They fit me in, provided the hair and did a fantastic job. My hair is very short so they really worked a miracle. My hair took 6.5-7 hours
However, some things to consider, my braider did about 8-10 braids (just getting started), then asked me to fill out a clipboard and pay for the service in full. Again, not halfway into the job or fully completed, but to pay when just beginning. So be prepared to pay the full amount upfront or when the hair is halfway done (for regular cases) and pay in cash (they do not accept Venmo, Cashapp, Zelle or PayPal).

I just got medium knotless done and my braider did an amazing job. Ensuring a verbal and confirmed (in person/phone call) appt and price is very important as I scheduled using the website and they didn't have access. Took 4.5hrs and payment was due midway through the braiding. (I brought my own hair and had to pay in cash jtlyk)
Love the service, two people braided my hair. I got knotless box braids waist length and they look perfect!!!! I look like a goddess!!!! I got so many compliments before even stepping out the shop, I’ve definitely found my go to braiding shop!!!
