I just had to write the experience my wife had with this facility. She had Lasik back in 2023 and because things were not done right had to go back in a few months later for him to do PRK. That is when it went down hill. She was experiencing very bad headaches and had to take her to the ER many times. We had to drive up to Price Vision in Indy and it was determined she had MRSA infection in the eye that was operated on. She could not see out of the eye and had to endure this pain and dealing with drops for over a year. So, after paying for the surgery we still had to spend thousands of dollars out of pocket over the course of almost 2 years and make multiple trips up to Indy. Price Vision had to replace her cornea because of the infection. She is now being seen by the Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia because we moved back to PA and things are finally looking up. Just be very careful in your decision to get surgery done at this location.

About a year and three months ago, I went in for glasses and contacts. Several weeks later, I went in to pick up the glasses and couldn't see through them. They were remade per doc. Several weeks later, I went in to remade glasses and couldn't see through them. Doc decided I needed daily contacts, so I forwent them due to price. A few months later, I called back to see if my glasses were coming in--i was told they were having problems with insurance. A few more months went by and I wrote them off and said I'm done with that place, I won't be back. In December of 2024, I get a call to schedule an appointment. I told them no thanks and elaborated on the visit a year before. They told me there was new management and a lot of changes if I wanted to give it another shot. I thought why not, sure. They scheduled me to y request on MLK. I get a call the Friday before saying they need to reschedule me. So I rescheduled to today. I keep getting automated messages about checking in to previous appt and updating insurance, but sure technical glitches maybe. Road construction everywhere made it a struggle to get in today, but I made it. The lady by the window was obviously upset about something because she glared at me a few times then couldn't be bothered with small talk I guess. The other receptionist called me over, I was pointed out fees..... Nah, I'm heading to Eye Mart. I'll figure out my vision there.

I made the mistake of ordering my glasses from this place it has now been almost . I will not go back. 3 weeks and no glasses and I can't get anyone to answer my calls of inquiry. Also charged a co-pay when my insurance clearly states there is none. I will not go back!!

I don’t normally do reviews. But i am so frustrated! I had an eye exam at Ohio Valley Eye Institute! The exam went well. As i went to check out the clerk said there would be a $35 payment due. I pulled up my insurance on my phone and showed her “routine eye exam copay $0.” She wouldn’t even look at it. I gave her my insurance card. She said there was still a $35 copay. i again showed her my insurance site on my phone and she said that was for medical. I told her we pay extra for vision and dental. She again said there was a $35 copay. I finally decided to work it out with my insurance, because i do not think she was going to let me leave without paying! So I put my card in the machine and it said, “good scan” the clerk said it didn’t go through. I put it in again and again, “good scan.” Again she said it did not go through. Third time she said it was ok. When i got in the car i checked my bank site and it went through 3 times, but they must have cancelled two of them out. Then I called my insurance. I was on hold for about 30 minutes. Insurance agent called Ohio Valley and said they put her on hold. She finally got back and said they would remove the charge. I actually called the office and asked for an apology, which she did give. When I checked the next day, all the charges were gone. Fast forward to getting glasses prescription. Luckily i asked for mine when I was there. My husband did not. We went to get him glasses at Costco. I called on Monday afternoon and asked them to fax his prescription. We waited for about an hour and decided to try again in the morning. Before we left home I called again and asked them to fax the prescription. She said she would do so before she left for lunch. It was about 11AM. I told her that i called yesterday and she said she would get right on it. When we got to Costco about an hour and a half later, they had not received it. So we drove across town to the office and asked for it! Finally got a print out! Needless to say we will not be going back there!

I took my daughter because we moved from Henderson to Newburgh and I wanted something closer. When we arrived the receptionists were nice but I could tell they didn’t know what they were doing. I asked one of them if I could sign a medical release form so they could get my daughter’s records since my daughter has Pseudopapilledema & myopia and the receptionists response was: “I’m going to go ask if we need the records or not” What?!! How are they not going to need the records if I’m telling her that my daughter has a diagnosis and that she was having follow-ups every 6 months?! After the eye exam, the doctor told us that my daughter’s eyes looked perfect and that she didn’t see anything abnormal. I was in shock! I explained her that my daughter has been having follow-ups every 6 months because she has been developing some symptoms and due to her diagnosis we have to make sure to keep an eye on it. I also told her that I had already signed the release form to which she responded “I don’t see anything abnormal, I would have to see the records.” I said, “Okay, so when do we have to come back?” and she said in 1 year! I was surprised … how little interest the doctor seemed. She is like some doctors who are doctors because they make good money not because they care about their patients! The worst experience I have ever had!

Staff are wonderful, the patients,, caring and helpfulness is unwavering. Dr. Could use a course in manners but still skillful. Famous sometimes makes a difference in attitudes. But never forget who you pass when climbing that ladder, you may need to come back.
