I had brain surgery on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, performed by Dr. Troy Payner, and I cannot say enough good things about the entire experience. From the very first interaction, Dr. Payner made me feel completely comfortable and confident. His calm demeanor, clear communication, and genuine care put my mind at ease during one of the most intimidating moments of my life. I truly felt like I was in the best hands possible. The Neuro ICU team at St. Vincent on 86th Street was equally amazing. The level of care, professionalism, and compassion I received was absolutely top-notch. I never once felt alone or overlooked, and I always knew someone was there if I needed anything. Two nurses in particular stood out—Veronica and Sierra. These two women are angels in scrubs. Their kindness, patience, and sense of humor helped me stay positive during recovery. They took time to explain things, made sure I was comfortable, and brought a sense of normalcy during a time that was anything but. I wanted to shout out to my anesthesiologist as well, but I don’t remember his name unfortunately. He was very professional & answered all of our questions promptly before surgery. Being funny was also helpful as it calmed my nerves! Thank you, Dr. Payner, Veronica, Sierra, and the entire Neuro ICU team. You made a life-changing experience feel manageable, safe, and even hopeful. I am beyond grateful. 🥹🧠🩶
