About Monon Community Center
The Monon Community Center in Carmel is a vibrant facility that offers a wide range of high-quality features and amenities for individuals of all ages and abilities. With an impressive selection of activities, including an indoor track, basketball courts, lap swimming, and various fitness classes, the center caters to diverse interests. The state-of-the-art fitness center is well-equipped with modern machines and a variety of classes, making it easy for members to find a workout that fits their goals. The facility is noted for its cleanliness and the love for its basketball courts. The water park included in the membership is a fantastic perk, providing fun for families with splash pads and slides that keep the kids entertained. The sauna in the locker room is appreciated by many, and lifeguards ensure safety at the pools. However, some reviews highlight areas needing improvement. Recently, the slides in the activity pool have been closed due to a lack of lifeguards, disappointing many children. Additionally, while the fitness center has solid equipment, some machines are noted to be dirty and in need of maintenance. The staff's responsiveness to equipment issues and customer service has also faced criticism, suggesting a need for better interpersonal skills. Overall, the Monon Community Center aims to provide a standout experience, blending fitness, fun, and community spirit, but could benefit from addressing cleanliness, staff training, and guest experience concerns.
The Monon Community Center is a great gym with numerous facilities such as two pools, a spacious weightlifting area, a track, basketball courts, the Monon trail, a seasonally open waterpark, and even a Kid-Zone to drop off children if needed. Really well kept and clean, the workers are all so welcoming and eager to help. Super friendly to all ages! I will say that it can get really busy, with several people waiting on one machine or waiting on lanes at the pool, but as long as you are willing to wait a bit, it is totally worth it!
Great facility across the board. Except for the gym…. It clearly was designed by someone who has never lifted weights a day in their life. The equipment, design, and layout is horrific for such a nice overarching facility.
Center has become way, way too busy for me.....terminated my membership a couple of months ago because unless you go at 8:00 PM, parking, getting on equipment or even walking is a major nuisance...... sad, but in the spirit of candor, this place is not the same place. I get it, the have a budget, but it is nuts at times.
