After decades of relying on natural talent and a musical ear, I was compelled to begin serious guitar lessons after hearing my teacher, Michael Tahlier, perform at a charity function. His skill far exceeded mine despite having 25 years less experience. The realization that years of playing music in my comfort zone had failed to advance my skills as a musician, I was ready to be challenged.
