In 1968 - 1969 I rented one of the two apartments in the small house on the corner. It looks like it's a parking lot now. Mr. King was our landlord, a really nice man. In the apartment above the barber shop lived a young couple who had an Irish setter named Scarlett. Good memories from my senior year at the U of I. I'm so glad to see that 57 years later, Mr. King's barbershop is still going strong and is a popular place in town.

I live just around the corner from this barbershop and while he does a really good job, he only accepts cash with no option for card payment. He also has recently raised his prices where a haircut is now over $20, so not exactly cheap.

Barber here is very professional although he does follow a strict timeline and does not appreciate it if you ask for a lot of customization. Overall good experience and satisfactory results. Will recommend if you know what exactly you want before going in.
