After my first appointment, it's clear to me that the Specialty Physicians of Illinois and especially Dr. Bewley are dedicated to providing the best medical care for their patients. Dr. Bewley took her time to carefully examine my rather extensive medical records and asked questions, ordered tests, and made referrals to specialists that no other Dr has, not only to provide the best ongoing care but to clear up some conflicting and incomplete reports. I'm very happy that I was referred to her office and very encouraged that I will receive the best medical care and very possibly improvement in my overall quality of life in my 80's. United Healthcare is my insurance provider. Their website listed a lot of medical doctors that would accept new patients, however I called half a dozen, that are all 5 star rated, with no luck at all. The receptionist for one of those unavailable doctors recommended Dr. Saleem Shahzad, MD. The best Reader's Digest review, friendly, knowledgeable professionals from start to finish: - Chris scheduled my appointment on the phone. She was every bit as nice and friendly when I arrived for my appointment. - Carolyn is the RMA who made me feel welcome and comfortable from the beginning of my exam. - Dr. Shahzad picked up right where Carolyn left off. He confirmed that I needed treatment for an upper respiratory infection and arranged for a prescription at my pharmacy close to home. What I don't understand is why Dr. Shahzad's score on the United Healthcare site is only 3 stars? This was the best experience I've ever had at a medical facility. I recommend Dr. Shahzad and his frontline support staff without reserve. Dr. Shahzad graduated in the top quarter of his Class of 1988 from the prestigious Jinnah Sindh Medical University. Unlike our phony baloney US President, I believe he really did graduate at the top of his class!
I usually had a pleasant experience here , but honestly I feel very judged and will be going someplace else. The lab technician that drew my blood was so kind and helpful ! She was the only helpful person there ! But I was seen by Marjorie and I had been worried about something that was serious to me. ( feminine issue ) and as I was walking out, she made a joke and said “ is this going to be a summer thing for you?” Since a similar situation happened a couple summers ago. I felt very offended and embarrassed. Completely unprofessional comment.
