“Came here for the first time based on the reviews and Joel did not disappoint. He was very chill and down to earth and made the whole experience relaxing. He listens to how you want your hair done and takes his time to make sure you’re satisfied with how you look. I’m Filipino with hair that sticks out pretty easily and I’ve had barbers struggle cutting my hair how I’d like it in the past. I showed Joel a picture of what I wanted my hair to generally look like and he actually made it look better than the picture I showed him. “Requested style: Whenever I want to change any style for me or my son they execute perfectly. All the barbers are really artists here they have a great team.

Specialties: They specialize in beards. Wax. Haircuts. My son and I only come to Icey cuts for haircuts.

Hair type: I am bald with a faded beard and I am also an actor. When I went on set the hair and makeup department panicked because my beard was too good and they couldn’t keep it the same for all the different days we worked. So they paid for my haircut 5 times in 2 weeks and we’re very impressed with my barber Stevo at Icey cuts

“This shop caught my eye in insta a while back (when I still had it, and boy do I recommend deactivating that $#!+ ). Was visiting Chicago and knew I had to carve out getting a haircut here. Was nervous asking for a flat top, in part because of boldness of the cut, but also because my hair is on the fine side and I was worried it maybe wouldn't work. It's been a bucket list haircut though. Dan assessed my hair before and assured me it would work, and he delivered!!! I was glowing when I left. I feel so studly and badass. Dan was really patient, took his time, and was great about taking the top down a bit shorter when I asked (which is no quick easy task for a flat top). He even texted around for shops recs so I can keep up this look in LA. Just a really nice guy. The shop is also super clean and beautiful. This haircut was the last thing I did before leaving Chicago and was truly the cherry on top of an amazing weekend there. Would absolutely get another cut here next time I'm in town!“
