Dr. Bruce was very nice. However we have had multiple mistakes made by the staff here, people have lied to cover their mistakes and the staff is the rudest i have ever had the displeasure to deal with. Even asked for the office manager but apparently they are on a 3 week vacation and office staff refused to give their name. At this point they have delay treatment due to mistakes by 3 weeks for someone who has had a concussion from a car accident a month before. Borderline negligence!!!!

WORST DOCTORS APPOINTMENT EVER!
It's a long story so here is the short version.
Me and mom arrive. Gynecologist tells us he doesn't have my records, (he did have them they were sent 5 times by my OB and verified) he asks to see a picture I have on my phone of the cyst. Tries to diagnose me by a picture in my PHONE. I explain I'm pretty sure my OB wants him to do an ultrasound so he can see it for himself.
I begin explaining a similar problem I have and have questions about, he cuts me off and tells me its unrelated, wont let me ask anymore questions.
He begins to bash my doctors office for not getting me in sooner to see him. I explain we found this cyst at 5 weeks and I am now 21 weeks.
He proclaims his office would never of put me off and its my OB's fault. (I refrained from saying my doctors office called him a few times each week for the last 16 weeks and I even called his office so it is in fact his offices fault I wasn't seen until 21 weeks.)
He tells me quote I'm too "fat" now at 21 weeks to be able to see the cyst...... that's a baby, sir, NOT fat.
He says we 'may' be able to do sonogram but it depends if the machine is free (there was literally only 1 other patient there)
Finally get him to do the sono. They find my right ovary but not my left (even though my baby is on the right side)
I say they cyst only shows up on a trasvaginal, he refuses to do one even though they still can't find my left ovary.
The then declares my OB must of saw waste in my bowel and that's why I have an unusual sonogram.....
This cyst showed up on my 5 week AND 21 week sono in the same place and is the same size. So I just haven't pooped in 16 weeks????? Are you kidding me? My OB doesn't know the difference between a bowel and a ovary????
He then pushes us out the door. The only thing that was nice about the whole visit is the ultrasound tech was furiously taking pictures of my baby while this man was trying to push us out. She grabbed the pictures she had printed and gave them to me so I could have them.
Long story short if you have something wrong with you DON'T GO TO SIU GYNECOLOGY!!!!

It takes along time to get through on the phone to only leave a message and if receive a call back if at all always took weeks. Was initially told at appts there was nothing wrong with me. Then the orders called in didnt have a doctor name on it. Communications does not exists

Do better. Near 35 minutes on hold. No way all representatives are busy for this long. This is after 3 other calls/transfers were disconnected and operators and customer service sounding like they have no idea what to do or where to transfer me. Then it rings like someone is finally going to answer, nope, back to the recording. I finally talk to someone, no they can't help, but here is the number to call. I call. Same lady I chatted with before. She wanted to transfer me back to my dr, I told her no, they said they can't do it. Then -all of a sudden- oh...here is your account, I'll send you an email to reset your password. This entire event took near 1 hour.

Dr Shipp lies and puts his personal comments on your chart. I went up the chain of command with my complaint and for his personal opinions to be removed from my chart. They did nothing and sided with him when they were not even there. Don't ever trust them to have your best interests. All they care about is protecting their own.

I have had the privilege of being an SIU patient for 25 years. The attending Drs are excellent, & do a wonderful job teaching. Even the residents are great.

Yesterday, I had a pleasant visit with Dr. Jordan Sestak Bruce because I was so impressed with the treatment of my left leg which she administered. Before meeting with a doctor, her nurse was so friendly. Staff in the neurology department were friendly.

I was referred to the gi department in June 2023 by my pcp for evaluation of possible UC/ IBS symptoms. My initial appt was on October 9th with N Corcoran. Two weeks prior to my appointment I was called and the appointment was rescheduled due to what I was told the provider was not going to be in the office. I had already waited 4 months for this appointment. So then they rescheduled me for that appointment for 1/15/2024 and the office wasnt even open for mlk day!!! What kind of idiots are scheduling appts that do not know at the time
when they scheduled that it was a holiday?? Due to the staff incompetency and provider issues I missed 2 appointments over the last 7 months and have yet to be seen!!! Good thing my symptoms arent emergent or else God knows I’d probably be dead by now!! I have switched all my care from any siu providers over to Springfield Clinic to manage my health issues at this point. I am a nurse and I realize
hrthcare is difficult and busy but that is unacceptable care. I would strongly suggest a retraining of the staff or a re-education of some sort, cause the professionalism and competency of the staff is severely lacking.
