We were here for the Route 66 Mother Road Show, drove in from Southern California...my wife said my hair was getting to long so we were driving by and saw Laketown Barber Shop and stopped. Absolutely the best most professional hair cut I ever had. George did most of the cutting old style, scissors, comb then trimmers. Just a really professional hair cut. When we come back next year I will be stop there again... Thanks George

I had a very pleasant experience today getting my hair cut. The owner/operator, George is an old-school barber that really knows how to wield a pair of clippers. He took the time to cut my hair the right way paying attention to the smallest detail, including my eyebrows and even put talc on my neck after shaving to help keep from itching. I'll keep this short and simple. I've lived in Springfield for most of my 23 years of life. I've received hair cuts at many places around the city, but I've been disappointed most of the time. I found this during a Google search just a few months ago and I thought I'd try it. George is the owner and only employee there. He's been cutting hair in Springfield since the 60s. He'll give you a buzz if you want, cut you toddler's hair, or give you a classic vintage cut, which is what I was after.
