We had tile in the entryway and hardwood in the living room and they installed this flush reducer strip that's barely noticeable. No more tripping hazard. They also took time to acclimate the wood in our house for four days before installation so it wouldn't shrink later. Little things like that show they know what they're doing.

The previous owners of our condo had left these awful stick-on vinyl tiles in the kitchen that were peeling at the edges. They used some kind of industrial scraper and solvent to get every bit of that gunk off without damaging the wood underneath. Then they did a full sand and refinish with a satin poly. The kitchen blends into the dining area now and the wood has this warm glow. We should have done this years ago.
