I recently visited Mobile Expo and had an outstanding experience with owner Jimmy that turned a simple upgrade into a full system overhaul—earning them a solid 5 stars! I initially went in just to get some new speakers, but Jimmy’s knowledge and enthusiasm quickly had me adding high-quality amps and powerful subs to really make my setup thump. He took the time to perfectly tune my EQ settings so everything sounds clear and balanced. OBD you say?
VWs are notorious for being difficult to work on in regards to electronics. So I took my car to Jimmy to install a Kenwood head unit to modernize it (i.e. Android Auto / Google Maps). He added adaptors to allow the radio to function with the steering wheel controls. The kicker here is that he also connected the radio to the OBD plug, which can send problem codes to the unit. So, when I had an issue with my car (non-electronic) , I knew what the problem was. Once I fixed the issue, I was able to reset the 'Check Engine' light with the unit. (This is very cool since you usually require an OBD scanner to do so.)
