    As a care coordinator, I have worked with this home health agency numerous times trying to get people connected with in-home health care. Every encounter I've had with Riverside Home Health Kankankee, the intake staff members who answer the phones are rude, they do not respond to voicemails, and they don't respond to referrals that are urgently being sent to them. At least they answer the phones..They only allow new patient referrals from skilled nursing facilities to be sent via fax, which is a complete mess in itself, but the issue is they don't call back the referring agency or acknowledge they received the fax. Having an intake email would solve half of these major communication concerns. I believe they have an email for this reason, but it seems they don't provide it as a way to not have to acknowledge the referrals sent via fax. According to another professional I work with, her family member received in-home health care through Riverside Kankankee. She said that the cnas and casemanagers didn't respond to family phone calls, on numerous ocassions the cnas would call off from shifts without notifying the patient/family member and the staff overall were known to be unprofessional and rude. If seeking home health care, I would look at other options first.
