MEH! This office is not all that great if you have a complex medical need. There's tons of AMG (Advocate Medical Group) offices where physicians aren't residents with rude supervisors. Go to one of those and save yourself the headache of this clinic. Going to this clinic is like rolling a die. You don't know if the resident you get will give you the refills on your medicines or not and if they do their supervising physician won't talk to you about it. Went to get a pretty simple refill on my Valium & Baclofen. The baclofen didn't get refilled at all, the Valium got a 45 no refills script. As if I'm going to go to the clinic 20 minutes away every month for a routine script I've had 5 refills on for 5 years. Worse yet they're always making you wait for weeks to see a resident. I can wait a week or two to see a real MD. Nurse Practitioners are better than these residents. Save yourself the headache and just go to urgent care at Des Plaines if you have something that needs fast attention and if you need a medicine refill, call in and schedule with a real doctor at a real AMG clinic not a teaching clinic. This clinic might be okay for people with simple medical needs but if you have a complex case and need a medical home with a dedicated team where you aren't being hot potato'd from one resident to another, go to one of the dozens other AMG clinics that have real MDs. These guys told me "go to psychiatry if you want your Valium refilled" I'm not going to waste my time and money on psychiatry that Medicaid and Medicare don't cover. Outpatient psychiatry is not covered for basic medications that a internist is authorized to prescribe. Valium is authorized for prescription by internal medicine. I've had a psychiatrist tell me "I'm not going to see you more than this one time because in the waiting room I have a bipolar, a psychotic, and a schizoid who actually need psych meds. Take your baby panic attacks and insomnia to your internal medicine doctor or a sleep specialist because I don't deal with this small pickings stuff!" Psych visit = $750 Internal medicine visit = $149Valium pharmacy retail price $30Let's not waste over 20 prescriptions on a single psych visit!Efficiency is key. And this clinic sucks at that because it's not real doctors talking to you it's residents and a supervisor who you will never see even if you demand to see them.
