I made an appointment to get a half up half down style for a wedding I had. They were pretty accommodating and booked me for an appointment right away. I was excited to support a family owned small business. I mentioned to them on the call that I had naturally curly hair and asked them if they knew how to work with it, they assured me that they did. They kept calling me to come in earlier the day of, which I didn't mind except the wedding was at 4 PM and I ended up coming to the salon at 11 AM and was worried my hair wouldn't last. The woman doing my hair didn't care to blow dry my hair straight before getting started. I showed her a picture of what I wanted which was my own hair from a previous event that I had gotten done at a different salon from a wedding earlier in the summer. She took one look at it and got started, never asking me to see it again. She kept calling my hair kinky, even though I have 3A or 3B curls and my hair is not kinky so I can only imagine how crappy of a job she would do for somebody who had 4A, 4B, 4C hair. She didn't know how to hide the braids from the top part of my hair so I had to tell her what she could do to it. Once she was done, I had to keep asking her to straighten the top pieces of my hair as it looked completely naturally curly, she ran a straightener over it for 5 seconds and quickly sprayed a ton of hair spray before I could even ask her to change anything else. The after pictures are exactly 20 minutes after leaving the salon. I had to go home and fix literally everything, I had to recurl my hair, straighten the tops, and even redo the pinning because it looked like a 5 year old had done it. What a waste of 85 dollars and of my time, these people do not know what they are doing at all. Oh and the best part is that close to the end of my hair being finished, I found out that she was rushing because she was having a pool party at her house that was already happening and she was trying to get to. If you don't know how to work with curly hair, it's a lot better to make sure your customers know that rather than ruining a customer's day by doing shitty work that they have to redo themselves.
My daughter has had such a difficult time getting her hair right after her freshman year of college. It got all messed up, not sure if it was the change in diet, water, stress or what. since then, we've really had a rough go of getting the color and texture right. My daughter saw Brittany at the salon yesterday who had great suggestions for what to do to 'smooth' things out and brighten her up, she looks fabulous! Today, she keeps commenting how happy she is with her hair. I can tell it has been a great confidence booster and I'm thrilled to see that she has the pep back in her step. Thank you Brittany, we are thankful for you!
I had gone to Debbi for hair color and cut. Initially it was great; she has a very bubbly personality and seems to know a lot about chemistry and color. However, after a couple years, she seems to have done sloppy work on me. She put strange highlight sections in my hair that are totally out of place, there are "bands" in the highlights, she cut my hair uneven twice (the first time was uneven and I went back and asked her to cut it a little more and it was worse). I have been gracious and yet have walked out the past several times to find myself very dissatisfied when I got home and saw what was actually done to my hair (after playing with it). I went to a different stylist...read full review
