Called Decklyn because my deck was rough. Boards splintering, a spot by the steps that flexed when you stepped on it, and the stain was patchy everywhere. The guy who came to look at it walked the whole deck with me and explained what was actually a safety issue versus what was just ugly. I had no clue what I was looking at before that. He could have pushed me toward tearing the whole thing out but said a repair would hold up fine, so that's what we went with. Quote came the next day and the price was fair enough that I didn't shop it around. They were on it for about three days. deck was in pretty rough shape, some of the railing was wobbly and a few boards had soft spots that made me nervous walking on. Decklyn came out and gave us a really clear breakdown of what needed fixing vs what was still fine. i looked at a couple other companies in Orland Park before going with them and the price was reasonable. they swapped out the bad boards, tightened up the railing, and sanded and stained everything so it all matched. took maybe two days total which was fine by me. the stain color actually looks better than what we had before, more of a warm tone to it. deck feels sturdy again and we've already been using it more since they finished up

weve lived in Orland Park for about 8 years and the deck boards near the stairs were soft enough you could push a screwdriver right thru them. not great. Decklyn pulled those sections out and sistered in new joists underneath too where they found some rot spreading. stairs feel solid now, no bounce at all. still need to get it stained tho.
