“[In April 2023 Mack's Handyman Services rebuilt my elevated deck. I wanted to wait a year to provide a review to better gauge the quality of the repair.]Due to poor initial build and my failure to proper care for it, my deck was a lost cause. It needed a total tear-down and rebuild. Based on quotes and reputation, I chose Mack's Handyman Services for the work, which turned out to be a great decision. Steve helped me understand what problems existed and fully explained his proposed solutions. Once the work started Steve did a good job of keeping me informed of progress as he worked through various issues, including weather delays, material delivery delays, and repair changes needed as issues were uncovered during tear-down. As work proceeded, both Steve and Reece worked hard to keep the project moving.Very happy with the work Steve and Reece did, as well as their site cleanup upon completion. The finished deck is much better looking than before (especially after self-applying a good semi-transparent sealer), but more importantly it is rock-solid stable (when it used to be scary to walk on). After a year of central Illinois weather, the deck looks and feels just as good as the day Steve finished it. Mack's Handyman Services gets a big thumbs up from me, and I will certainly consider them for future projects and recommend them to family and friends. Thank you Steve and Reece!“
