DO NOT GO HERE! This provider is the worst I’ve experienced in over a decade of receiving mental health services. The front desk staff is rude for no reason, I called them on different days and they always had a poor attitude and were not helpful. When you request services they make it seem like you’ll be seeing Dr. Nowell but that is not the case. I was given the run around in even receiving services. Then the person I had didn’t know how to use Zoom properly. I had to keep calling the front desk to let them know the counselor canceled the session (on accident). The time of these sessions kept changing as well. At first I was told they’d be an hour. Then 45mins....read full review
I was so excited to start my counseling sessions with Nowell and Associates! On the first day, I arrived on time and found out the sessions were done online instead of in person! I ignored it and thought maybe it was just a hiccup. I then had the wrong card charged even after handing them the card I wanted to be charged. I then got a text message that I would be charged a $10 convenience fee after they took my card off file. I then got another text stating if you cancel within 48 hours, there would be a $250 charge! Our couples counseling with Angela Jordan was a mess! The front office decides if they will answer your call or text even after leaving messages with the answering service or calling yourself. After six weeks, I decided it was time to move on. I had to realize these behaviors were out of my control and I wanted no parts anymore.
I would not recommend this firm or the counselor, Angela Jordan. I was referred to this firm by my EAP because they were available for remote, counseling sessions on weekends, for myself and my 2 adult sons. I called and attempted to schedule my 1st session in February, and it ended up getting pushed to April because the staff kept insisting that my son's form was "incomplete". There was some confusion about who emailed my sons the paperwork that needed to be completed so I sent over their contact information again. At the close of our 1st session, I could not schedule an appointment with Angela. She told me I had to call the front desk. When called back the next day to schedule my 2nd session, it could not be scheduled until June (2 months after our 1st session). We started both sessions late because the staff and Angela had trouble sending the Zoom information and starting the calls. The staff kept insisting my son's paperwork was incomplete. I discovered he did not want to include his insurance information. I told both my sons the sessions were going to be billed to MY insurance. I was placed on hold and went back and forth with several staff members about this. During the 1st session, instead of offering advice and constructive guidance, she told me to stop "harassing" my sons. During the 2nd session, while relating my thoughts and feelings to her she told me I was being "too dramatic". When I asked her what advice she had for us, she said for us to be "nice". I have sought counseling services previously and never had this type of negative experience.
