Education is incredibly important to me, and I always want to feel fully informed throughout any process. John, the owner, was exceptionally professional, and my wife and I felt completely confident in our understanding of every detail and what to expect. The design phase with his team was not only highly engaging but also a lot of fun. Every interaction we had at the office with their crew was pleasant and felt welcomed. The construction crew we interacted with daily made us feel truly valued and appreciated. This entire process was enjoyable, and if you’re hesitant about making a significant purchase, I strongly encourage you to consider this team. I couldn’t be happier with the outcome. We are thrilled to share this review and wholeheartedly recommend their services.

If you’re reading this you are getting ready or are thinking about embarking on a huge decision and investment. I hope my lengthy review will help in your decision making and instill confidence in the team we decided to work with, Mud Turtle. We first started exploring pool options back in 2021 during the big pool craze when everyone and their mom was getting pools. We reached out to multiple companies including Mud Turtle at that time and everyone was booked out a year or more. Prices were unstable and there was no knowing where it may land when your turn came up. So we shelved the idea and decided to wait until things cooled down. At the end of 2022 and early 2023 we decided to look around again. We spoke with the 5 of the most popular companies in the SW Burbs. We meet in person with 4 of the 5 the companies, and explained what we were looking for. Everyone was really nice and came with their sales game face but only 1 left that lasting impression on me and my family and that one person was Joe from Mud Turtle. Joe came with his knowledge and answered all of our technical/pool questions but when we invited Joe into our home he wanted to get know my family and that meant something to us. He wasn’t just there for sale but truly wanted to get to know us as people and my children. That added a personal touch that we felt was special. At no time was he pushy or attempting to over commit on anything. Of course when you’re doing such a big project you want it done now, so I’d push on wanting to project to be done sooner and at no time was an over commitment made. That’s important to me in that we didn’t want to be told something that was unrealistic just to seal the deal. After spending over an hour with Joe it was time to make our decision. Now there are some great companies out there and some not so great. Some with 20-30 years of experience and there’s nothing to take away from those companies, they also do a great job. Mud Turtle has been in business for 3 or 4 years I believe, but don’t let that deter you because the people running the operation have 10+ years experience (maybe more) with 500+ pools installed under their belts. So they’ve seen and experienced it all from the good and the bad. We felt comfortable knowing they knew the business and how to properly build a pool. The owner John came to our house to do a survey and I could just tell this guy knew what he was doing. He explained the terrane we were on, what engineering would say, and what the Village would expect, and he was spot on. He made is recommendations and gave his opinion on pool placement, retaining wall, and deck space. After meeting with Joe and John we felt extremely comfortable knowing that we were in good hands and would be well taken care of. Joe with the help of Emily drew up a beautiful 3D drawing of our property with the pool, all the features we selected, firepit, patio design etc. We (or I) did tinker with the design up to the day we were ready to start construction and the team, especially Emily, was very patient with me as I made some changes throughout the waiting period and even a few during construction. After we received our very competitive quote we decided to move forward and then the fun stuff began. We got to make all of our selections from pool size, liner, auto cover color, patio design, firepit design, etc. all the fun stuff! We then got the call that we were being bumped up by 2 weeks due another project getting pushed which we were ecstatic about. We were kept up to date throughout the waiting period on start date and whether we were still on track. During the waiting period I would stop in randomly and just hang out in their shop and shoot the sh*t. I’d spend an hour or more at times and the team was always receptive and inviting when I stopped by. I spoke with other customers and listened to stories of previous projects while getting a free education on pool care and pool operation. This just made me feel even more positive in the decision we made as I continued to build rapport with everyone and got to know eve
