Steve sent two of his guys to remove wallpaper, patch, and repaint a wall in our master bedroom. They did a great job - you would never know there used to be wallpaper on the wall. This service was difficult to find in the city, so a big thank you to Steve and his team for coming through.
I hired this company to install wallpaper in my staircase and powder room. I was initially very happy with the 2 day job. The 2 guys were very hardworking and pleasant. A short time afterwards, I noticed some bubbles in a small area of the staircase wallpaper. I contacted Steve, and he eventually got it scheduled, I asked, since they were going to be here again, could they paint the primary bathroom. So that it wasn't a day lost. Thinking that they were going to fix the small wallpaper a couple of 2 feet sheets, and it would be fixed. Instead, they injected some glue into the paper and said, that should fix it. I was surprised, because injecting the wallpaper was never communicated to me. I asked they guy if they were going to do the bathroom, and one of the men said, "we are too busy." Initially, they said Steve's on his way, as they were running out the door, I asked, is Steve coming, they told me no and left. I called Steve, and he claimed they said, that I was going to paint the bathroom. I told Steve that his guys don't want to do the job. Steve showed up, and he said, there was a miscommunication, and they painted. The guy that speaks English, said, "it was so difficult." They left and I wanted it to dry so I could see if it looked okay. It dried, and it does not look the best. I have high expectations, but the baseboard, corners, and celling areas have many bleeds. Communication is not very good. Initially, it was okay, but it was never great. I always had to chase Steve down or assume. Steve assumes everyone has his knowledge and experience. How would I know that you inject wallpaper with glue, first. Unless he tells me. Furthermore, he always says his guys will arrive at 8:00 am, but it's closer to 9:00 am. Steve never came to see how the paint job turned out. Instead, Less than a week later I get an email: "How did it turn out?If you can pay the wallpaper balance as well as $ For the Bathroom Faux Painting. Thank you!" Then when I said, I was not happy with the paint job, and that the bubbles were still there, I get a email diatribe from Steve. Suddenly, endless rationale, and why didn't I let him know and they can fix it. Steve completely ignores me saying, I don't want them back. So, because I don't desire them back, because the 2nd visit was very unpleasant, and they didn't want to be here doing the job. Somehow Steve thinks I should pay-in-full, even if they don't ever address or fix my concerns, because he offered. Ton's of communication when it's about paying. In fact, I was initially happy with the wallpaper, and paid half after they were here without even being asked.Lastly, there was no written estimate on the bathroom paint job. And, when Steve was here, he stated, "I just want to be sure his guys are paid for the day." And, he threw out a number. Suddenly, in his email, surprise, he requests a higher dollar amount. Beware, be sure there is a written estimate from this company for anything they do for you, or they will throw out any number they choose. Likely trying to recoup money, because he failed to charge enough for his original estimate for the powder room wallpaper, because they had to move the vanity. They will also, threaten you: "If I don't receive my Payment in full for the bathroom by tomorrow September -- 2022. I will not only file a lawsuit to recoup my balance and fees I Incur. But I will also have my attorney file a mechanics lien on your property." Keep your life stress free, and hire somebody else that truly wants to do the work, clearly communicates, and that actually checks out the work being done.
