About Tokyo Nail and Day Spa
Welcome to Tokyo Nails Spa This business is designed to serve clients for both beauty and health needs. Customers can indulge in a variety of services, including nail care, waxing, and massage. The experienced and courteous staff provide high-quality beauty services and personalized attention to each client. While some customers have had positive experiences, reporting excellent service from staff like Yumi and Penny, and finding the environment to be clean and comfortable, others have raised concerns about the cleanliness of the facilities. One reviewer noted significant mold buildup in the sink and a dirty UV light, which left them feeling uneasy. Overall, the reviews present a mixed picture, with the quality of services and the attention to hygiene appearing to vary.
Y'all leaving bad reviews and commenting on the language the staff speaks are racist and entitled. This is a walk in nail service. They do a good job, and in my experience here, the staff is as kind and accommodating as possible. If you show them kindness and respect, they reciprocate. I've made manicures and pedicures here for years and only had one issue, which turned out to be the brand of the polish I choose. If you're not going to tip your technician, stay home.
Watch out for salon's that sell gift certificates, Change owners but not the name on the door. Then do not want to honor a girl certificate that has that name and location, but different owners. Plus, check the Illinois law on gift certificates. They are not to have a expectation date. They took your money and used it, and owes you for it.
I was very hesitant to come here after I read all the terrible reviews but my experience was pretty good. The girl doing my nails did a great job and she got started right away with no wait. I was ready to give 5 stars until I went to go wash my hands. The sink was so nasty, it had at least a 1 inch think band of black mold on the inside of the sink bowl. I've never seen black mold like that! It was around the whole sink. That could easily be cleaned but based on how much mold was there, its clear its been neglected for months. Very unhygienic and disgusting. Also I got a no chip mani and the UV light you put your hand under was filthy. I hovered my hand in there so I don't touch anything. When I got home I gave myself a nice scrub down because with the mold and the filthy UV light, I just felt dirty!! So all in all, I liked my nails and the girl doing them but my god this place needs a good cleaning!!
