John is an amazing teacher and coordinator. He is always very respectful and straightforward. If you take the ~10 minutes to read the contract with your parents/child everything is super smooth and goes by quickly. John was able to help me get all of my drives scheduled around my insane scheduling as I attend school out of town. For those saying that it takes months to get all of your drives scheduled, IT SHOULD TAKE THAT LONG. There should be no reasonable expectations that you can complete all 6 drives in less than 4 months. Driving for 50 hours is a lot of time, and after every drive John/the instructor takes the time to explain what to work on and where you excel....read full review
I was a student in one of the teen courses a while back. After a month of classes and consistently attending my classes I have a lot to say about the school. Firstly, I will address the class portion. My teacher, Gustavo, was very knowledgeable on the topic of driving. He was able to answer any student questions in depth and made sure that the student understood. Additionally, Gustavo would do a detailed review of the materials before any course examination. Overall, Gustavo is a very great teacher with a passion for educating teenagers on how to drive defensively. Similar to others, we've had difficulty getting any responses to calls to schedule drives. We were able to schedule 2, after multiple attempts, that were months out and were a month apart. I'm trying now to schedule additional drives. Have emailed, called and left messages-no one ever returns calls. It's getting frustrating and I'm about to the point of taking a day off work so I can go speak to someone in person about this. It's ridiculous.
In person classes were fine BTW. My other children used a different school locally in Grayslake and the experience was MUCH better. We had zero issues completing the supervised drives.
