WHAT AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!
We took our 14 yr old granddaughter to lake Glendale stables over spring break and stayed in the rustic cabin over the stables. The owner Carol was as gracious as they come especially with our granddaughter! I believe we were the only riders because it was Easter weekend.
Carol took us on an extended ride through the boundaries of the Shawnee National Forest, then we dismounted and hiked some of the rock formations. Stunning! Once we got back to the stables, our granddaughter helped Carol get the saddles off & brush the horses. Then she let our granddaughter ride & swim in the lake with the horse she had ridden earlier. It was a dream come true for our granddaughter!
The rustic cabin above the stables is a little dated but was perfect for us, and had all the amenities we needed for our weekend. Carol described it as a mix between tent camping and a motel. She was right!
We absolutely loved our getaway and plan to go back again very soon!
