After much research and a discussion with a kitchen designer about replacing versus refacing, I hired Jim of Kitchen Craftsman to reface our kitchen cabinets. We wanted to keep the original footprint of our kitchen but needed a cabinet update.
From the initial meeting right up to the finished project Jim was professional, courteous and personable. His selection of cabinet colors was impressive and as tempted as I was to try something new, I stayed with simple shaker style white with black hardware.

We decided to redo our kitchen to light up and freshen the 35 yo look. Rather than totally remodel we considered resurfacing our cabinets. My wife lined up 3 quotes of companies that used a thin plastic covered laminate. I really wasn’t impressed or happy with the products or the business model of the most popular brand. I looked for someone who used real wood and fortunately found Kitchen Craftsman. After reading the positive reviews and seeing that it was a local business I set up an appointment for a quote. Great value and superb workmanship!Our kitchen sported country oak cabinets and a laminate countertop, circa 1986 and was in dire need of an update. We found Jim Pace of Kitchen Craftsman in Geneva, IL through a reference from a real estate agent. Jim came by to estimate the job and showed us some samples and we also viewed his gallery on his website (Google "Kitchen Craftsman Geneva IL" to find it).
