The dog was brought in and treated with care, even though the owners were not currently their clients.

In addition to their emergency services, Veterinary Associates also provides excellent routine care. A dog was neutered by Dr. Shafer and recovered quickly with minimal discomfort. The incision was barely noticeable and did not cause any itching.

The clinic is also welcoming to new clients in need of emergency care. During a holiday weekend, a dog became sick and the owners were able to secure an emergency appointment with Dr. Caitlin. She took the time to thoroughly explain the situation and genuinely cared for the dog's well-being.

I can't thank Veterinary Associates enough for squeezing me in a half hour before they closed to examine a tiny stray kitten my husband found. Dr. Wagner and her nurse were incredibly gentle and compassionate with little Hope(name I've given her), who only weighed 2lbs. After the examined and treated her, they took the time to explain her care instructions thoroughly and made sure every question and concern I had was answered.

Thanks to their excellent care and guidance, Hope has improved tremendously in just the last 24 hours! I'm so grateful for their kindness, expertise, and willingness to help this little girl get the second chance she deserves. Highly recommend

We took nosey in emergency visit as he had a bad cut in his back yesterday 7/4/2026 nosey is a 17 year old cat Kaitlyn Martin was the vet I want to say hands down to that girl she explained everything and we felt good about her after hour visit we will be back well worth trip from Platteville and please tell Kaitlyn that nosey is doing great little slow yet but on his way to recovery

I was visiting my parents lake house when my dog got attacked by another dog. Being as I was visiting the area and never been to a vet in the galena area before I panicked and called anywhere around that would be able to stitch up my dog. Luckily, Melanie (at the front desk), Dr. Nelson, and Claire (vet technician) were able to help me. They actually stayed open later for me because I did not have anywhere to go for help. All 3 of them were amazing, so helpful, and just an overall blessing to have helped my dog. I would recommend them to anyone in need of veterinary services.
