I did not stay at the Eagle Ridge resort, but I did visit it and it is located in an absolutely beautiful location for a getaway. They were burning a wood fire when I was there and it just smelled so good. I think this is a perfect getaway location, a great place to visit if you like to golf, a fun family vacation resort, or if you're looking to enjoy the downtown Galena area this resort is just a few miles away.Nearby activities: The resort is located in a more rural, forested, dark sky community and community nature preserve. Aging resort, our room door had stripped hinge screws and had trouble opening and closing ? needs exterior paint and other work. Breakfast buffet not included in room but was nice. Free shuttle service is nice too.Ice machines in our area were not working and outside bubble rooms were not in use cause they were $125 an hour ? Wow.

I feel like the odd man out with some of these reviews. I booked the wrong hotel for what I was looking for, but if you ask for something, they'll probably accommodate you and be friendly about it. Hit up Andrea in the Woodlands Lounge if you can. She made the visit way better and made me seem less out-of-the-ordinary, plus had some local recommendations. The entire staff was really cool, and take advantage of the free shuttle if you can, because the driver we had was awesome and the roads are a pain.
